What is Reiki? Reiki is a healing practice developed in Japan. It's technique helps to reduce stress and encourages relaxation. Traditionally, it is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the concept that energetic blockades in individual's body can be removed. When our life forces energy is low, we might feel stuck, unhappy, and unhealthy in a variety of ways. What is distant reiki? Distant reiki can be done in a number of ways. The practitioner can use a proxy, visualization, or a projection of Reiki to send energy to someone else. This is why I ask for your full name and date of birthday when you book this service. Because reiki involves the connection and movement of energy, it can be administered intentionally and energetically from anywhere. I'm based in St. Louis, Missouri and have clients across the continent who report positive outcomes. Who is reiki for? Being that reiki is a healing modality based on a practitioner channeling energy of the client, anyone who would like to explore ways to activate their own healing processes in their body to restore physical and emotional well being might benefit. Additionally, reiki has been studied in the treatment of pain, anxiety, and depression and with favoring results. Reiki has not been found to be harmful and is regarded as a completely safe and gentle practice. What to expect? After a reiki session you might feel refreshed, decreased pain, more clear minded, less reactive to outside stimulation, more grounded and present in the moment, and more! Everyone's healing experience varies and that's no different with reiki. Who is the practitioner? Andrea Richardson (she/her/Goddess) is a Black, queer Kundalini Reiki practitioner and Teacher based in Saint Louis, MO. She received her attunement & certification as a Kundalini Reiki Practitioner & Teacher September 2016. Since then, she's been supporting Reiki clients both in-person & remotely (especially since the panini press/pandemic).
